2011 Manly Daily Northern Beaches Pairs Results

Lyn Smith and Cath Whiddon (see photo left) wrested the Manly Daily Pairs trophy for 2011 for Peninsula Club with a blitzing finish in the final session. "After our poor showing in the morning, I didn't think we had a chance," Cath noted in surprise.

The Peninsula Club pair beat runners-up Lisa Dunphy and Maris Taylor from the Harbord Diggers Bridge Club, who also finished strongly, ahead of the third placed pair, Peninsula's Alan Davies and Vivien Eldridge who were leading the field at the half way mark.

Peninsula Club also did a great job of hosting the event, including wine and cheese at the close.

This is the fourth year of the event with the Manly Leagues Bridge Club winning the first two, Narrabeen Bridge Club winning last year, and now Peninsula Bridge Club taking the honours. Look out for the 2012 event in the middle of the year.
