Submit/Edit a Venue

This Help - Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) item provides guidance on submitting and editing your club's Venue information. The Venue is the place to show all the information about your venue (such as location, parking and transport information, standard session costs, facilities etc) - and is appended to all the events that use that venue.

The site administrator will generally set up your initial Venue information and related menus as part of adding your club to the site. This information is shown automatically in the standard menu items for your club, and may also be accessed by anyone selecting an event that is played there.

To submit a new Venue:

• Be logged in as the authorised contributor on the BGI site
• Click on the Submit a Venue link in the Home menu (top-left) - and complete the form as appropriate
• Note that any changes to the listed address will affect the Google map showing the venue location - please check the map link on the site to ensure you are happy with the results
• If you wish to add a photo of your venue, please keep the dimensions under 200w x 150h 
• Save on completion

You can also submit a new venue as part of entering a new event, using the new venue button in the event authoring screen.

To edit a Venue's existing information all you need is to:

• Be logged in as the authorised contributor for that venue
• Open up the existing venue information
• Click on the Edit (Pen and Paper) icon that appears to the immedate right of the Venue title (if you are the authorised contributor for the venue) - and edit as appropriate

The reason that setting up the club's initial venue information remains a site administrator task is the venue needs to be aligned with the menu structure across the site. If you are able to edit the venue information please contact the Administrator to assign you to this role.
